Groups
A Group is a named set of your NPCs — "Release crew", "Research desk" — that you can grant Tools to, lend host folders to, and start a Party with, all in one place. A Group belongs to one Player, and an NPC can be in any number of them.
Groups are about NPCs, not people: they do not give another Player access to anything. AgentsVille still has exactly two roles, Operator and Player.
What an NPC can use
An NPC's Tools, MCP Servers and Skills come from three places, added together on every turn:
- Its own grants, on its Tools page.
- Its Groups' grants, on the Groups page.
- Everything granted to all NPCs, the All NPCs card on the same page. That includes NPCs you create later.
The one exception is a per-NPC switch-off. On an NPC's Tools page a grant it inherits is shown ticked with where it comes from — from Group "Release crew" — and unticking it switches it off for that NPC alone, without touching the Group. Nothing else can take away a grant a Group gives.
Only Village-wide Skills can be granted to a Group or to all NPCs. A Skill written for one NPC belongs to that NPC.
Granting sandbox through a Group gives each member its own Sandbox, with
internet access off; only the Operator can turn egress on, one NPC at a time.
In a Party
Every NPC in a Party is told who else is there, with each colleague's job title, the first sentence of its description and the Tools it has — so "who can run this?" has an answer. See Party.
